Stories for the Journey
The articles archived here are the best of the past year’s columns–little stories with a big lesson in them—which I wrote for the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
Why stories? Because stories are what we love—how we learn and remember. If you start preaching at me, my ears will glaze over. I’ll look like I’m listening but my mind will start wondering what to cook for dinner or who I need to talk to when you’re done.
But tell me a story and you have me.
Jesus knew it; that’s why He told stories. His immortal Prodigal Son story, for instance, (Luke 15:11-32) tells us more about human nature and the love of God than hours and hours of preaching.
So, I tell you stories taken from my life and the lives of others I know and let them teach the lessons of life. Let’s explore together!
